IMPORTANT UPDATE: Eve Sleep has pulled out of the US market. If you live outside of the US, you can likely still get an Eve mattress. If you are in the US, we suggest checking out the following beds, which are nice alternatives to Eve:
Eve Mattress Price And Coupon Code
Eve was made to be a comfortable memory foam mattress at an affordable price. On MSRP alone, this bed is more affordable than similar mattresses from Leesa and Casper, and Eve typically also offers major promotions that cut prices. Here’s a breakdown of the pre-discount pricing for the Eve mattress.
Because Eve is a UK-based company, its bed sizes differ from mattresses in the US, and prices appear in British pounds rather than US dollars.
|UK Single (90 cm x 190 cm)||£399 (about $520)|
|Small Double (120 cm x 190 cm)||£599 (about $780)|
|UK Double (135 cm x 190 cm)||£649 (about $850)|
|UK King (150 cm x 200 cm)||£749 (about $980)|
|Super King (180 cm x 200 cm)||£849 (about $1,110)|
|Emperor (200 cm x 200 cm)||£849 (about ($1,110)|
As you can see in the table above, Eve is not expensive. If you know you like memory foam mattresses and are more price conscious, Eve is a nice option.
What Is The Eve Mattress Made Of?
Eve is an entirely foam mattress, with a classic, cozy, memory foam feel. As you can see in the graphic below, it’s 9.5″ thick in total and consists of three layers:
- Top layer: 2” layer of Eve’s “new-generation” memory foam
- Middle layer: 1” layer of responsive memory foam
- Bottom layer: 18 cm layer of Eve’s “Support Foam” (which is essentially dense polyurethane foam)
All of the foam in the Eve mattress have been inspected by CertiPUR, which means (among other things) that they have been tested numerous times to ensure that there are no harmful chemicals in the mattress. Also, the Eve mattress complies with the British Standards for fire safety because the beds are made in the UK.
Caring For The Eve Sleep Mattress
The Eve foam mattress has a hip and unique cover. It’s bright yellow around the perimeter of the bed, and the top is white with a honeycomb pattern stitched in.
What’s great about this cover, though, is that it’s removable and machine washable. You only have to remove the top panel, not the surrounding yellow material. Eve’s website specifically states that you must wash this top panel at 40°C, and then let it air dry.
You can also get a mattress protector on Eve’s website, which is 100% cotton and spill-proof because it has a Neotherm coating. The mattress protector can also help with keeping out dust mites or bed bugs. It’s made like a fitted sheet, so you can slip it on top of the Eve bed. However, it is a little on the pricier side.
You can also find a lot of affordable mattress protectors on Amazon, but it might affect the airflow and temperature of the mattress, as well as possibly the feel of it. Because Eve has a machine washable cover, it’s not completely necessary to get a protector for this mattress.
Eve Mattress Firmness
Overall, Eve is about a medium to medium-firm on the soft to firm scale. This depends on your weight and height, but for the average person, expect the mattress to be in that medium to medium-firm range.
Eve Foam Feel
As is fairly standard with memory foam, Eve foam is going to be slow in terms of responsiveness, which means you might see an imprint stick around for a couple seconds after you apply pressure to the bed. This is why it feels like the material sucks you in and hugs you, though not in an overwhelming way.
Because the bed is around a medium-firm, you’re only going to slightly get that stuck-in-the-mud feeling that typically accompanies memory foam mattresses. You can see in the video below that the material remembers its prior shape—this is a hallmark of memory foam (hence the name).
As for the overall feel of the bed, it feels like what it is: an all-foam bed with a memory foam top layer.
Eve Sleeper Types
As with any mattress, the way that Eve feels on your body will depend on how you sleep. Here’s how the mattress will work for side, back, stomach and combo sleepers.
Eve is a good choice for side sleepers, especially if you’re a medium-sized individual (i.e. 150 – 225 lb). You should get a good amount of pressure relief, particularly under your hips and shoulders. You will sink in and be cradled by the bed, but not so much that you feel like you’re stuck in the mattress.
However, if you’re a petite side sleeper, you will likely want a slightly softer mattress than Eve.
Back And Stomach Sleepers
Eve is right around the middle in terms of the firmness scale. Because of this, it should be supportive enough for the hips and shoulders of back and/or stomach sleepers.
Eve will probably be more preferable for back and stomach sleepers that are small to medium sized, as the bed will be firmer for them and keep their spines supported.

For combination sleepers who tend to switch between various positions at night, Eve should be fine as well. Just keep in mind that you want to play to your dominant sleeping position most. Also, because the mattress has somewhat of a stuck-in-the-mud feeling, it will provide some resistance as you rotate positions at night. If you tend to switch frequently, this can cause you to be more restless, but if you only occasionally switch positions, this shouldn’t be an issue.

Eve Mattress Body Type Analysis
In addition to your sleeper type, your weight also affects how a bed will feel to you. Find your body type and see if Eve will be a good fit.
Petite Body Types
Petite people (less than 150 pounds) put less pressure onto a mattress, which makes the bed feel more firm to them. Because Eve is an all-foam bed, it will provide a good amount of cushion to feel soft for smaller individuals. However, petite people may want to sleep exclusively on their back or stomach, as they won’t typically be heavy enough to really get ample pressure relief on their side.
Average Body Types
For average-sized people (150 – 225 pounds), mattresses should feel close to how they’re described (we write our reviews from the perspective of average-sized folks). Eve should suit this group of people fine since it’s a medium to medium-firm bed.
Heavy Body Types
The heavier you are, the more weight you’ll put on the bed and the more you’ll sink in, making it feel softer. While this is a slightly firmer bed, it’s still made entirely out of foam and is only 9.5” thick, so bigger folks could wear through Eve much quicker than they’d like. We’d recommend you take a look at our post about the best mattresses for heavy and obese people.
Eve Mattress Review Performance Ratings
- Off-gassing: The Eve foam mattress takes up to 48 hours to fully inflate and take its proper shape, and the smell might linger for another few days (or weeks) after that, according to the company.
- Durability: Overall, Eve is a durable mattress. The company recommends rotating your mattress 180° every 30 days for the first year to extend its lifespan.
- Pressure relief: Most side sleepers (except for petite ones) will enjoy the pressure relief that Eve provides.
- Motion isolation: As with other all-foam beds, Eve is strong in the motion isolation category, so you shouldn’t be too disturbed if your partner is an active sleeper.
- Temperature neutrality: Eve sleeps on the warmer side, which isn’t too surprising since it’s made from memory foam (which absorbs body heat).
- Edge support: Eve’s edge support is pretty good, so you won’t be falling off the bed, even if your partner is encroaching on your space.
- Noise: Since it’s all-foam, the Eve mattress is pretty silent.
- Sex: Eve has a memory foam top layer, which means that you or your partner might sink in more than you’d like (but not as much as other memory foam beds).
Does Eve Sleep Hot?
Eve is meant to hug around your body to make you feel cozy. There is going to be some emanated body heat with this, which the memory foam material will then absorb. It doesn’t have any technology that will actively cool you down either. So yes, Eve does sleep on the warmer side.
How Is Eve For Couples?
The Eve mattress is a good option for couples due to its strong edge support and motion isolation. If you want to know a little more about how we test out edge support, check out our blog post about it!
Edge support won’t be a concern with Eve. We doubt you’ll find yourself falling over the edge of your bed.
Usually all-foam beds are good in terms of deadening cross-mattress motion and Eve is no different. The memory foam layers do a great job of absorbing movement and preventing it from transferring throughout the mattress.
When we performed our motion isolation test, the Guinness cup hardly moved when Jeff rolled around on it. This is a good simulator for how someone would move on a mattress, and there is hardly any motion being transferred.
Pros And Cons Of The Eve Mattress

- Works well for all sleeper types
- Removable and machine washable cover
- No longer available for customers in the US
- Tends to sleep warmer than some other mattresses

Because Eve no longer ships to the United States, American customers should check out these alternatives instead.
Eve Sleep Reviews

Eve Mattress Review: Verdict
We’ve gone through a lot in this Eve review, but here’s what it all boils down to:
- Eve is a great option for anyone who’s on a budget and wants a memory foam bed.
- It is not the best bed for linebackers or anyone over 250 lb, but medium and petite sized people should be fine.
- Eve is accommodating for all sleeping positions, including side, back, stomach and combo.
- It’s also a viable option for couples.
- One detail that stands out is their removable and machine washable cover.
- The price point is hard to beat.
Eve Sleep Policies: Shipping, Warranty, etc.
In the United Kingdom, Eve ships its mattress straight to your doorstep via a number of couriers, including Yodel, Hermes and UK Mail. The company also ships to Ireland and France.
The mattress shows up compressed and vacuum-sealed in a box about the size of one that would fit a mini fridge. From there, all you need to do is drag the box inside, remove all of the packaging and position the mattress on your bed frame.
- Risk-free trial period: 100 nights
- Warranty policy: 10 years
- Shipping: Free
- Returns: Free
Comparing Eve vs. Nectar
Eve and Nectar share a lot of similarities. They’re both bed-in-a-box memory foam beds that are in the medium to medium-firm range. Also, both mattresses accommodate all types of sleepers and are good options for couples. They’re even pretty similar on price, with a queen costing about $850 – $900. But again, you can only buy Eve in a handful of European countries, and Nectar is only available in the US.
Comparing Eve vs. Layla
Like Eve, Layla is also a memory foam bed that’s good for all sleeper types. However, Layla has two different firmness options (since it’s a flippable mattress) and doesn’t sleep as warm as Eve. Finally, Eve is more affordable than Layla (which runs about $1,000 for a queen) and is only available in the UK, Ireland, and France. Layla is sold in the US and Canada.
Comparing Eve vs. Tuft & Needle
Much like the other companies we’ve just highlighted, Tuft & Needle is a great option if you’re looking for a memory foam bed that’s appropriate for all sleeper types. Unlike Eve, it’s a temperature-neutral bed made of two layers (Eve sleeps warm and has three layers). But Tuft & Needle’s biggest selling point is its affordable price, which is just $595 for a queen. It’s also worth noting that T&N only sells its products in the US and Canada.
It was sent to us by Eve Sleep; however, we are under no precondition to provide positive or negative comments about this bed.
It should! On the website, Eve Sleep recommends checking out the condition of your bed base before actually using it, because they say worn-out bed bases can possibly impact the performance of your new bed over time. Wooden slatted or platform beds offer the most support. If you’re going to use a slatted base with your Eve mattress, Eve Sleep recommends that the gaps don’t exceed more than 3 inches apart. Also make sure the slats are secured, evenly spaced and rigid. If you plan on using Eve with an adjustable bed, they recommend you leave the bed flat when it’s not in use. This will help protect your warranty.
It’s made in the UK.
You won’t ever need to flip this mattress, and it actually will only work properly on its intended side. The company does suggest, however, that you rotate the Eve bed “lengthways every 30 days for the first year to maintain proper shape and to extend its lifespan.” They also recommend that you avoid dragging this mattress and that you place it gently into position whenever you’re moving it in order to prevent damage.
This bed has been inspected by CertiPUR and has been approved as being 100% safe. It also contains no harmful or toxic chemicals.
