Need Help Deciding?

Answer a few quick questions to get matched with the perfect mattress

Who Is It Best For?
If all you’re looking for is a foam mattress
People that know and trust the MyPillow brand
Who Won’t Love It?
If you need a supportive coil mattress
People that need a soft or firm bed (it’s in between)

MyPillow Mattress Overview

Most of the beds we’ve reviewed at the Slumber Yard have garnered their popularity from their flagship mattress and released bedding accessories after the fact. MyPillow, however, started as an “as seen on TV” pillow which quickly became one of the most best-selling television products of all time. After the success of their bedding accessory, they decided to venture into the online mattress game as well. In this review, we discuss the MyPillow Mattress and if we think it’s worth the hype.

We’ve included jump-to links below for anyone who wants to skip around, or jump right to a specific section in our review.

    • Honest MyPillow Mattress Video Review

For those of you who would rather watch a video review for MyPillow mattress, we’ve got you covered!

Keep reading to learn more about the MyPillow Mattress and who it will likely suit most.

    MyPillow Mattress Construction

The MyPillow Mattress is made up of four foam layers and totals 10″ thick:

    mypillow mattress review cover
All-foam bed comprised of four layers
    • Base layer: Thick support foam layer which is the foundation for the mattress
    • Middle layer: Their Plush Transitional Foam layer comfort foam layer which is meant to soften up the feel of the dense foam bellow
    • Second middle layer: High-density foam made to be even softer than the layer below, there to provide deep pressure relief and comfort for sleepers
    • My Pillow Mattress Topper: High Airflow Comfort Foam to serve as the true comfort layer for the bed

Wrapping the four layers of foam is MyPillow’s QDS Fabric Cover. It’s soft, comfortable and “stain-resistant”. We put that in air quotes because there are some stains (coffee, wine) it just won’t hold up against.

    MyPillow Mattress Feel And Firmness

Overall, we think the My Pillow mattress has a soft, neutral-foam feel and is therefore not the firmest mattress out there. The bed almost has a pillow top mattress feel to it, even though it technically doesn’t have a traditional pillow top per se.

On our firmness scale from soft to firm, we rated it around a medium to medium soft, or around a 4 on our 1-10 scale with 1 being the most soft.

    Temperature

Although the company uses a special foam top layer designed with airflow in mind, we think the MyPillow mattress sleeps temperature neutral. To put it simply, the MyPillow mattress won’t be the primary reason why you warm up at night or cool down.

With that said, if you consider yourself a hot sleeper, check out our list of the Best Cooling Mattresses.

Is MyPillow A Good Mattress For Couples?

All in all, we think couples will be fine on the MyPillow mattress. The bed passed our motion isolation and edge support tests with no major issues.

    Edge Support

First, the bed unfortunately has below average edge support. It’s certainly not the best we’ve ever seen, but you should be fine if you do not sleep along the side of the bed.

    Motion Isolation

The bed does a good job of deadening movement. This is a positive sign for couples in which one or both partners tend to move around a lot throughout the night. The last thing you want is to be jostled awake every time your partner switches positions or gets up to go to the bathroom.

    MyPillow Motion Isolation

    Suitable Sleeper Types

    • Side Sleepers

Side sleepers usually require a softer mattress for pressure relief along their sides. Given the bed lands on the softer side of the spectrum, MyPillow Mattress is an excellent option for side sleepers. The bed provides a good amount of pressure relief and is comforting for your hips and shoulders.

    • Back And Stomach Sleepers
    • Combo Sleepers

If you sleep in many different positions, but you tend to prefer sleeping on your side, the MyPillow Mattress could be a good choice for you. Just as long as you don’t spend a majority of the night on your back or stomach.

The MyPillow mattress isn’t our favorite back and stomach sleeper bed, though. We think the bed will work for all types of sleepers, but back and stomach sleepers generally prefer slightly firmer beds (more in the medium to firm range).

    Body Type Analysis

    • Petite To Average

Based on its all-foam construction, we think the My Pillow mattress is ideal for petite individuals, and an excellent choice for average-sized individuals.

    • Heavy

Heavy people (250+ lb) usually require beds that use coils for their primary support structure. Large body types exert more pressure on beds than smaller sized individuals. As such, hybrid and innerspring beds are generally a better choice for these types of people because coils are more durable and supportive than the dense support foams that all-foam beds (like the MyPillow Mattress) utilize.

    MyPillow Mattress Price And Discounts

The MyPillow mattress is priced competitively in the online mattress landscape. It’s in the same general price range as other popular bed-in-a-box mattresses like Leesa, Puffy and Purple. Here’s how pricing breaks down by size:

    SizePrice (MSRP)
    Twin$726
    Twin XL$840
    Full$1,000
    Queen$1,130
    King / Cal King$1,300 / $1,400

MyPillow does offer coupon codes and discounts on its website to bring down the price. You can usually expect to receive a $50 to $100 discount on your mattress purchase. You can check Amazon for the MyPillow mattress and current prices. If you find the MyPillow mattress is still a little out of your budget, check out our list of the Best Cheap Mattresses.

    MyPillow Mattress Review Verdict

There’s no real standout features with the My Pillow mattress, but it’s comfortable and accommodating nevertheless. If you’re looking for mattress that costs around $1,000, you spend a lot of time on your side, and traditional memory foam isn’t your thing, this bed is a fine option. It also works for people who want to purchase from large, well-established brands. Though, if you want a great bang for your buck, this might not be the most optimal choice.

    MyPillow Mattress Vs

    • MyPillow vs. Tuft & Needle Mattress

MyPillow Mattress is similar to Tuft & Needle’s mattress in that they both have an all-foam construction, but Tuft and Needle is just a little firmer than the MyPillow Mattress. MyPillow is also more expensive. But, with MyPillow, you get 4 months to test the mattress, whereas Tuft & Needle gives you a bit less at 100 nights.

    • MyPillow vs. Leesa Mattress

The Leesa Mattress is one of the most popular foam beds in the online market. Like the MyPillow Mattress, the Leesa Mattress is made with foam, but it has a medium firmness compared to MyPillow’s medium to medium-soft profile. Therefore, those who like sleeping on their back and/or stomach may feel that the Leesa is more versatile. Leesa is also slightly cheaper than MyPillow.
