Nectar Lush Price & Discounts
As you might expect, the Lush is more expensive than the standard Nectar mattress. Here’s a quick look at MSRP by size.
|King / Cal King||$1,799|
However, Nectar regularly runs special sales and promotions so you likely won’t pay full price. In most cases, you can expect to receive at least $100 off the Lush, which would bring a queen size down around the $1,400 mark. This puts the Lush in line with other premium all-foam beds like the Puffy Lux, Amerisleep AS4 and GhostBed Luxe. Be sure to check the Nectar website so you can take advantage of the current promotion.
Inside The Nectar Lush
The Nectar Lush mattress is comprised of three foam layers that total 12″ thick. For those of you who are keeping score, that means the Lush mattress technically uses one less layer than the flagship Nectar bed, but is 1″ thicker. Here’s a quick summary of the various layers inside the Nectar Lush mattress.
- 7″ Dense Support Foam – similar to the standard Nectar mattress, this layer serves as the foundation for the bed.
- 2″ Energex Foam – this is a responsive, supportive foam that acts as a transitional layer in the bed.
- 3″ Cool Flow Visco Memory Foam – the true comfort layer of the mattress, which gives it a dense memory foam feel.
We should also mention that Nectar includes a special material called AquaCool in the center third of the top layer. This material is supposed to help with temperature regulation under your lumbar region, which is typically the area of the bed that traps and retains the most heat.
Encasing the three layers is Nectar’s Dual-Action Cooling Cover. Like the AquaCool material mentioned above, the cover is supposed to help prevent sleepers from warming up throughout the night.
Feel & Firmness Analysis
Like the flagship Nectar mattress, the Lush has a dense memory foam feel. Within a couple seconds of climbing onto the mattress, you’ll feel the top layer of memory foam start to conform to the shape of your body. If you like this sort of sensation, which a lot of people do according to our own independent survey of over 2,000 participants, then we think you’ll end up really enjoying the Lush bed.
All in all, the Lush mattress is a notch or two softer than the standard Nectar mattress in our opinion. We think it lands somewhere in the medium firmness range. If you really pushed us for an exact firmness rating, we’d say the bed is a medium minus, meaning we think it lands on the softer side of medium.
Nectar Lush Sleeper Type Analysis
Overall, we think the Lush mattress provides a fairly nice mix between comfort and support. As such, we think the bed is a viable option for all types of sleepers.
We think the Lush mattress overall skews more towards side sleepers given its firmness profile. At the end of the day, the bed provides just a little more pressure relief for the hips and shoulders of side sleepers compared to the standard Nectar mattress.
Back And Stomach Sleepers
Back or stomach sleepers may find the Nectar Lush firm enough to provide the support needed. Many foam mattresses are too soft or break down over time, causing discomfort for back/stomach sleepers, but not the Nectar Lush.
Combo sleepers that alternate between their side, back and stomach will probably enjoy the support and pressure relief this mattress offers. It’s versatile enough for every type of sleeper, even if you switch it up all night. Though, keep in mind, there will probably be resistance from the foam when you move because of memory foam’s viscous, slow responding feel.
Nectar Lush Mattress Body Type Analysis
Petite To Average
Given the Nectar Lush is comprised entirely of foam, we think it’s best for small and medium size individuals.
We may recommend the Nectar Lush mattress for smaller to average folks, but that’s not to say large folks can’t sleep on the bed, we just think over the long run, individuals who are larger in stature will be better off going with a bed that contains coils. If you’re a fan of memory foam, but you weigh over ~225 pounds, you may want to check out our review of the DreamCloud mattress. This is a memory foam hybrid bed from Nectar’s parent company.
Although the Lush mattress does contain some cooling materials, overall, we just don’t think it’s enough to call it a cooling bed. Rather, we think the Lush bed sleeps more temperature neutral. All this means is that we don’t think the Lush mattress, in and of itself, will be the primary reason why you sleep overly cool or excessively warm. Instead, other factors like your home climate, favorite pajamas or the type of sheets you use will play of a role in determining your sleeping temperature.
Considerations For Couples
If you share a bed with a partner, there are two more topics you’ll want to consider before purchasing.
Luckily, the Nectar Lush provides pretty decent edge support for an all-foam mattress. We don’t foresee couples having any major problems with sleeping on the edge of the bed. Both individuals can spread out and get comfortable without feeling like they might fall off the side.
What is motion isolation? This subject relates to how well a mattress is able to deaden or isolate the movement from your partner during the night. The less movement you feel, the better you’ll ultimately sleep. No one wants to be jostled awake every time their significant other rolls over or gets up to use the restroom. The Nectar Lush performs well in this department. We didn’t notice any significant issues during the testing process. Couples can proceed safely with this mattress.
Nectar Lush Mattress Review Verdict
Considering its premium price point, it’s tough for us to recommend the Lush over the standard Nectar mattress unless you (1) sleep primarily on your side; or (2) like softer beds more in general. If you meet one of those two criteria, then it might be worth it to upgrade to the Lush mattress.

Comparing Nectar Lush vs Layla
To spot the major differences between these beds, take a look at the construction and comfort layer for differences. The Layla is a flippable bed with copper-infused memory foam vs. Nectar’s gel memory foam. The Layla has four layers compared to Nectar’s three. Considering Layla’s additional layer and flippable design, it’s less expensive than the Nectar Lush. You can read our entire Layla vs Nectar review for more info.
Comparing Nectar Lush vs Original Nectar
As expected, the Nectar Lush is a step or two up in quality and comfort from the Original Nectar thanks to its more advanced construction. That being said, the Lush is also more expensive. That’s because it’s thicker by an inch and has more cooling components than the original model. Check out our full Nectar vs Nectar Lush review.
Overview Of Nectar Customer Policies
We realize that you may be new to the online mattress industry. Accordingly, you might be wondering what Nectar’s company policies actually entail. Below you’ll find a short summary of each policy so you know exactly what to expect.
- Free Shipping – The Nectar Lush mattress ships for free and will arrive at your doorstep rolled-up and compressed in a cardboard box. The setup process is fairly straightforward. It shouldn’t take you longer than 15 minutes to have the mattress completely setup in your bedroom. Below is a quick video that shows the Slumber Yard team setting up the bed. We should also mention that you’ll likely want to give the bed at least 24-48 hours to fully inflate before sleeping on it.
- 365 Night Trial Period – Nectar offers its customers a full year trial period. This should be more than enough time to decide whether you like the Lush bed and want to keep it or whether you’re not a fan and want to return it. For comparison purposes, the standard trial period length in the industry is 100 nights.
- Free Returns – During the trial period, if you decide the bed isn’t up to your standards, you can return it and get your money back. Simply contact Nectar customer support and they’ll schedule a time for the bed to be removed from your home and donated to a local charity. Please note, the entire return process may take 2-4 weeks.
- Forever Warranty – The Nectar Lush mattress comes backed by a “Forever Warranty.” Essentially, for as long as you own the bed, you’re covered from any manufacturing defects that may arise. With that said, it’s always a good idea to read the warranty in its entirety before purchasing as it covers important details about what may void it.
Yes, the Nectar Lush is compatible with adjustable frames. The company sells an adjustable bed frame themselves. The mattress will also work with slatted foundations and platform frames.
The foams inside the Nectar Lush mattress are CertiPUR-US certified. This means the foams do not contain any harmful chemicals or toxins. Therefore to answer the question, yes, the Nectar Lush is safe to sleep on.
According to the company’s website, the Lush mattress ships via FedEx and will typically arrive within 2-3 business days after you purchase online. However, we have heard from some consumers that their Nectar mattress has taken longer to be delivered. To be safe, we’d say expect anywhere from two days to three weeks for the bed to arrive at your home.
Last we checked, the Nectar Lush mattress was available to purchase from several online retailers, but we did not see any brick and mortar retailers that currently carry the bed. However, it wouldn’t surprise us if Nectar partnered with a large retailer in the future considering Nectar is one of the most popular online brands on the internet. Keep in mind, the company does offer a 365 night trial period.
It feels like exactly what it is: a memory foam mattress. It has a dense/viscous feel.
