Price – Tempur-Cloud Breeze Cooling Pillow

This is not a cheap pillow and it will not be an impulse purchase for you. It’s made for a specific type of sleeper and most other people will just say “pass”. Brace yourself, here’s a pricing breakdown.

SizePrice (MSRP)

Yes, that’s right. This pillow starts at $169, which makes it the most expensive pillow that we’ve reviewed—even pricier than the Helix Pillow and Layla Pillow.

There is a glimmer of good news though. Amazon tends to mess around with pricing for this pillow. We’ve seen it as low as around $130 for the queen size, which, yes, is still expensive, but much more palatable than $169.

Construction and Feel

This is a dual-sided memory foam pillow. TempurPedic calls the foam a “Lightweight TEMPUR material,” but that’s just marketing speak for memory foam. As for the feel of the pillow, it’s about a medium-soft, although memory foam does soften over time.

The way the pillow is constructed is pretty straightforward. You have a memory foam slab with a cooling strip on either side and a cotton cover. The cooling material is what TempurPedic calls “TEMPUR-Breeze Gel” and it’s actually cool to the touch, much like the gel strip that you see on the Leesa Hybrid Pillow.

TEMPUR-Breeze Gel Strip

Since the gel strip is on both sides of the pillow and it’s an active-cooling material, this pillow actually sleeps very cool at night. In fact, if you don’t sleep really hot at night, this pillow almost certainly is not for you. Just like the beds on our Best Cooling Mattresses list aren’t for cold sleepers, the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow is only recommended for people that sleep abnormally hot.

As for the cover, as previously mentioned, it’s made entirely of cotton. It also happens to be breathable, soft, and machine washable. It’s actually a really nice cover.

Who is This Pillow Best For?

Given that the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Pillow has an uncompressed loft of 6.4″ and a compressed loft of about 3-4″, we think this pillow is best for medium and larger individuals. It wouldn’t be our favorite pillow for petite sleepers as it’s not adjustable (i.e. you cannot add or take away from the loft) and will simply be too tall for many people with a shorter, smaller frame.

Of course, this is a general statement, but we think petite sleepers are better off looking for a thinner pillow.

Also given the loft of the pillow, it’s going to be preferable for back and side sleepers—stomach sleepers mostly likely will not enjoy it unless they hug the edges of the pillow.

When sleeping on your back, you want to make sure that your head is facing more or less straight up. This will help to maintain the natural “C” curvature in your neck. If you feel the pillow pushing your head forwards, the pillow likely has too much loft for you.

Ideal for side and back sleepers

For side sleepers, you’re looking to follow a straight line from your nose down your spine. If you’re head is cocked up too much this can cause a good amount of pain and discomfort to your neck, especially if you’re sleeping like this for 6-8 hours.

Verdict on the TempurPedic TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze Dual Cooling Pillow

This pillow is definitely not for everyone. On price alone, TempurPedic will be turning away a lot of prospective customers. That said, if you’re looking for an ice cold memory foam pillow and price isn’t an issue for you, the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze should be on your short list of pillows to try out.
